Applicable Harmonic Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
The stated goal of the conference was to build on the great success of applicable harmonic analysis in the last decade by bringing together first-rate senior experts along with promising young researchers in the theory and application of wavelet analysis, non-linear approximation, computational fluid dynamics and other applications with an emphasis on a combination of theoretical development with practical applications. The mix of topics worked out marvelously. Although talks were originally grouped into sessions according to topic, the resolution of various scheduling conflicts mixed up these groupings quite thoroughly. However, since all talks were plenary and wellattended, the mixing did not prevent anyone from hearing any talk. It also made the workshop quite lively at times, with the participants sometimes gaining unexpected inspiration from superficially unconnected but in fact surprisingly relevant adjacent talks.

Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes in Thermal Environment using the Nonlocal Timoshenko Beam Model
In this paper, based on the nonlocal Timoshenko beam theory, a nonlinear model is presented for the vibrational behavior of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) embedded in elastic medium in thermal environment. Using the Timoshenko beam theory and nonlocal elasticity of Eringen, the influences of rotary inertia, transverse shear deformation and small scale effect are taken into account. To model the intera...

A comparative analysis between the fundamental and second cyclotron harmonics of gyrotron backward-wave oscillators (gyro-BWOs) is presented. The simulation results reveal that nonlinear field contraction is a common feature for both harmonic interactions. Besides, the electron transit angle, used to characterize the axial modes of the fundamental harmonic TE11 mode at the start-oscillation con...
متن کاملPhase regeneration of an M-PSK signal using partial regeneration of its M/2-PSK second phase harmonic
We propose and numerically investigate a phase regeneration technique that allows an M-PSK signal to be phase regenerated by an M/2-PSK (or even M/4-PSK) phase regenerator (applicable for M = 2, with k an integer). This scheme comprises three main parts; firstly, phase harmonic generation is used to create the second and third phase harmonics, secondly, the second phase harmonic (a down-convert...
متن کاملDynamic Harmonic Analysis of Long Term over Voltages Based on Time Varying Fourier series in Extended Harmonic Domain
Harmonics have become an important issue in modern power systems. The widespread penetration of non-linear loads to emerging power systems has turned power quality analysis into an important operation issue under both steady state and transient conditions. This paper employs an Extended Harmonic Domain (EHD) based framework for dynamic analysis of long term analysis over voltages during the tra...
متن کاملHarmonic Response of Pile Groups to Dynamic Loading
A completely general method of analysis for three-dimensional raked piles under harmonic excitation is discussed. The piles have been represented by a three-dimensional frame structure and the soil has been represented by a boundary element discretization scheme. A computer program has been written which carries out this analysis and produces a group stiffness matrix that can be included as a f...
متن کاملTime Frequency Analysis of Higher Harmonic Generation in a Three Color Laser Pulse
high harmonic generation is a useful tool for the generation of short, intense attosecond pulses. In order to simulate high harmonic generation, we performed a numerical solution to the time dependent Schrödinger equation. by considering dipole approximation, we predicted generation of a 53 attosecond pulse. In order to see the time and frequency of emission of attosecond pulse, we exploit...
